From the Founders:
Yatra Health U.S Visitors Care
We are Dr. Shyamala Arani, founder and internal medicine physician of Passion Health Primary Care, and Dr. Anantha Chentha, co-founder and internal medicine specialist at Passion Health Primary Care. Together, we are excited to introduce Yatra Health: U.S. Visitors Care—a healthcare membership service created specifically for international visitors coming to the United States.
Yatra Health provides culturally connected, accessible healthcare guidance tailored for visitors who may not be familiar with the complexities of the U.S. healthcare system. While we do not offer direct hospital care, our service helps bridge the gap by providing culturally sensitive medical guidance, medication refills, and navigation support. With our backgrounds in both the U.S. and Indian healthcare systems, we understand the unique healthcare challenges and expectations of patients from non-U.S. countries, and we bring this perspective to everything we do with Yatra Health.
The inspiration for Yatra Health came during the initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when international travel was abruptly suspended and flights back to many countries, including India, were grounded. Over 520 visitors from India found themselves stranded in the United States, facing prolonged stays and limited access to healthcare. Many of these individuals had immediate medical needs, ran out of essential medications, or were unfamiliar with the American healthcare system during a time of global crisis. Moved by their situation, we volunteered to assist by providing diagnoses, medication refills, and compassionate guidance, addressing their health concerns while respecting their cultural needs.
Our work during this time strengthened our commitment to serve the international community. With the success of Passion Health Primary Care in the Dallas Metroplex, Yatra Health is our way of giving back, extending care and support to visitors from around the world. We hope to make every visitor’s stay in the U.S. a safer, healthier, and more comforting experience.
